Notes for Parallel Port FastSCAN Systems

This version of FastSCAN continues to function with scanners attached via a parallel port on computers running Windows 2000. However, as the parallel port is no longer fully supported, problems such as lock-ups during scanning may occur with some computers. We advise users of these systems to try the following if any problems are experienced:

  1. When installing FastSCAN, try selecting USB (even though you will use the parallel port instead). Then, when running FastSCAN, configure for parallel port under the “Scanner->Properties...” menu.

  2. Ensure that you have the latest drivers installed for your motherboard and graphics card.

  3. Ensure that you are running Windows 2000 with the latest service pack installed.

  4. Try enabling or disabling hardware acceleration under the “Settings->Graphics Hardware” menu as different options work better with some machines.

This version is no longer designed to function on Windows NT4 systems.
